I used to fall into the “Bob Dylan has a bad voice, his songs work better in the hands of others like Jimi Hendrix” camp, but then I became obsessed with Blonde on Blonde and realized that his voice is a completely integral part of his music. His performance on the epically arranged “One of Us Must Know (Sooner or Later)” is a case in point - he strains to keep up with the tone and cascading pace of the instrumentation and it ends up being much more affecting as a result.
