Girls - “Lust For Life”
Titling your song “Lust For Life” is a pretty goddamn cheeky thing to do. Luckily, Girls are a pretty goddamn cheeky band. That opening line, “Oh I wish I had a boyfriend/I wish I had a loving man in my life,” as delivered in the mannish warble of some guy who probably wears lots of ironic keffiyehs, immediately wins the day, and the rest is all gravy. Also: reminding me of the Exploding Hearts is, as Martha would say, a good thing.
