Lindstrom and Christabelle - “High & Low”

I don’t mention this track in my review of their album Real Life is No Cool on Slant Magazine, but it’s really one of the highlights. The lyric is one of the more sensical and straightforward (it helps that it’s simple) and I think the song overall is a great example of the melodic focus of the record. Nice muted guitar solo, too. Definitely recommended.

Massive Attack - “Paradise Circus” (Gui Boratto Remix)

I haven’t been very impressed by the most recent work of Massive Attack or Gui Boratto, but it’s probably not much of a stretch for me to say that they are my favorite electronic artists of the 90s and the 00s, respectively. So the fact that they’ve now collaborated is basically reason enough for nerdgasm. The fact that this remix is seriously fire - full of sultry strutting and noir guitar, oozing sex and duplicity - feels like a beautiful gift.
